I am originally from England and spent all my childhood and early adulthood there. Although I am now living in the United States, I have dual British and American citizenship and welcome the benefits of having both!
I have a bachelor’s degree from the University of London in modern history, economic history, and politics, and a master’s degree from Loughborough University in library and information studies. With respect to my first history degree, I have felt subsequently validated by Anne Frank since I discovered that history was her favorite subject as well! Not just that, but she also hated math as much as I did at school!
In late 1997, I moved to Los Angeles to be with my American and Jewish wife, Amy. We quickly moved to the beautiful Seattle area in Washington state.
I “met” Anne Frank when I was in my late twenties and have loved and “listened” to her and her talented sister Margot ever since. This then broadened into an appreciation for the lives of their friends and their helpers in the Secret Annex. I rejoiced when I was finally able to visit Amsterdam in April 2022 and see where Anne and Margot lived, walked, and went to school. After I came home, I realized I had left my heart behind in the Netherlands.
I read, write, think, and ultimately pontificate a lot according to my wife! I have high-functioning autism, a daughter, and a noisy Shetland sheepdog.
